A Bit About Us
Nice to meet you! We are Final Frontier Astronomy. Technically, we are an astronomy business. But really? We deal with something deeper: Perspective. We specialize in leading stargazing experiences for diverse audiences—families, private groups, educational institutions, and organizations—driven by a unique combination of precise astronomy, intellectual curiosity, and philosophical conversation about our place in the universe.
Our tours differ from the standard: we combine naked-eye observation with the use of advanced telescopes and in-depth guidance. Our goal isn’t just to show you what is above us, but to enable a moment of connection: between science and nature, between the small observer and the vast universe, and between the people sharing the experience together.
Our Approach
We don’t settle for just pointing out the Big Dipper and moving on. We are here to tell the full story: from the birth of the universe to the “spoilers at the end of time.” We combine professional telescopic observation with an open conversation about physics, scale, and the deep mysteries of the cosmos.

The Team
Behind the scenes (and the telescopes) stands Ori Katz – an astrophysicist and “star nerd” at heart. Ori established this activity out of a deep passion to connect people to the universe in an intelligent way. Ori is an astrophysicist and local science guide with years of experience leading groups, families, and organizations. He combines a scientific approach, intellectual curiosity, and horizon-expanding philosophical discourse, inviting participants to reflect on their place in the universe and the infinity within themselves.
But “Final Frontier Astronomy” is no longer just one person; it is a method. Today, the experience is delivered by a team of guides hand-picked with extreme care. It’s not enough that they know physics; each one has undergone personal training with me to ensure they speak the language, master the scientific precision, and hold that special approach. It doesn’t matter who leads the evening – you receive the same standard, the same knowledge, and the same spark in the eyes.

Over the years, we have accompanied and guided local authority groups, educational institutions, public bodies, and additional organizations. Among the bodies that have taken part in our activities and events: Dimona Municipality, Netivot Municipality, The Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel (SPNI), KKL-JNF, Midreshet Ben-Gurion in the Negev, The Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel Nature and Parks Authority, Clalit Health Services, high schools across the country, and more.
